DIE RHEINNIXEN
At Halloween 2025, Gothic Opera returned to Battersea Arts Centre's Grand Hall with supernatural tale Die Rheinnixen (The Nixies of the Rhine) by Offenbach.
Fully staged for the first time in the UK, with a newly written arrangement for chamber orchestra, our production was set in the postwar chaos of the short-lived Weimar Republic, with visuals inspired by the dream factory of German expressionist cinema and the political poster art of the period.
