GOTHIC OPERA
On Saturday 31 October 2020, we held our first Gothic Festival. It featured evocative works by 28 composers, which were performed by 17 singers, all brought together in 3 carefully curated and stylish gala concerts in the gardens of St Paul’s, Covent Garden (the Actors' Church). You can now watch the concerts online here.
Just as the guests did on the day, you'll hear each piece introduced by expert compere, Karl Lutchmayer, and you'll hear the Gothic Opera co-founders speak about their aims and ambitions for the company. You'll journey through a selection of spooky operatic repertoire, some of which was receiving its first performance since the nineteenth century.
